When We First Noticed

When We First Noticed,...

When We First Noticed is a father’s honest look at what it’s like to raise a child with autism. From the excitement of becoming parents, to the first developmental concerns, evaluations and diagnosis, and everything that followed, this podcast shares our family’s journey as we learn to navigate a life we never expected—but one we wouldn’t trade for anything.

I’m not a doctor, therapist, or autism expert. I’m simply a dad sharing what our family has experienced: the difficult days, therapies, sensory challenges, school, uncertainty, laughter, breakthroughs, and those seemingly small victories that can mean absolutely everything. Along the way, we’ll also have honest conversations about something that isn’t discussed enough—the emotions fathers experience while trying to support their child and family.

When We First Noticed is for dads, moms, grandparents, caregivers, and anyone whose life has been touched by autism. We may not have all the answers, but we can share what we’ve learned, talk openly about the struggles and victories, and remind one another that every child’s journey is different. Autism is part of our son’s story, but it doesn’t define who he is. He’s our son, our joy, and our superhero.
